He may not have uttered a single word onstage, but people always remembered Harpo Marx. There was something special about him, something unique and unforgettable. This aura of mystery that surrounded Harpo wherever he went can’t quite be put into words, but it doesn’t really matter. When it comes to the gentle, passionate, comedic genius of Harpo, words have never been necessary. People were drawn to him for reasons that even he could not explain. Harpo had a genuine love for life that people found immensely appealing. It was almost contagious. Wherever he went, he loved people, and they loved him right back.

     Harpo Marx was born into a poor Jewish family in 1888 as Adolph Marx. Adolph and his family lived in a tiny, rundown tenement in New York City, a Jewish Ghetto of sorts, filled with new American immigrants struggling to make a living.
