This video of Harpo playing the harp in Monkey Business shows a very different side to Harpo. In it, he is filled with a total concentration and love of his art. Harpo is so intent on playing the harp, that he is no longer aware of the camera or anyone else. It is just him and his harp. When he plays, all jokes stop. Even though he jokes around later on in the scene, for the time being, he’s just being true to himself. Harpo was not performing to be funny, he was performing to do what he wanted with his life, and playing the harp was his favorite thing to do.
